I’ve been creating videos since 2018, and every single upload has been marked “Not Made for Kids.” Then on June 23, 2026, my channel gets demonetized overnight for “Misleading Family Content”? What the fucking logic is that? This fucking YouTube system is a joke.

.@TeamYouTube, legitimate 2D animated horror channels are being unfairly demonetized under the “Misleading Family Content” policy, despite clearly creating horror content for mature audiences. These channels are not presenting themselves as children’s entertainment. Their titles, thumbnails, descriptions, themes, and storytelling clearly communicate that the content is horror-focused and not intended for young children. Animation is a medium, not a children’s category. It is used across horror, crime, suspense, psychological storytelling, and many other mature genres. Each video requires countless hours of work including original writing, voice acting, illustration, character design, animation, editing, and production. Demonetization has a devastating financial impact not only on channel owners, but also on the writers, artists, animators, narrators, and editors who rely on this work for their income. We make every effort to label our content appropriately. Our video and channel descriptions state that the content is intended for mature audiences, and every video is marked “Not Made for Kids.” Our viewers understand the genre and eagerly wait for each new animated story. We are asking @TeamYouTube to conduct proper manual reviews, reconsider these demonetization decisions, and improve how animated horror content is evaluated. Adult-oriented animation should not be penalized simply because it is illustrated.
