For me, best sports moment ever. Had just lost my grandma, and was otw to her funeral when I was notified my dad passed away. We were cleaning out his apartment & my husband found a Cardinal red rosary. We were looking at it when we heard the crack of a bat on tv, was this scene.
@GovAbbottPress Kind of how you turned tail and didn’t fight to do the right thing when POTUS asked for a mid decade redisticting to create 5 republican seats?!?!
Here is my take on veterans benefits. The generations before mine refused to get seen for injuries. These guys would literally break bones and try to walk it off. When they went to get out there was no documentation and getting disability compensation, that they earned, became difficult.
Those same people told the next generation of war fighters, mine, to get seen when they got hurt. We have it all documented. Health care in the military isn’t just a privilege, it’s a right.
20 years of war, a full career from a military lens, broke people. The difference is that people got it documented.

The Republican House majority must put up or shut up: any interruption of benefits to millions of our Nation’s Veterans will clearly demonstrate their inability to govern and show their continued lack of respect for the men and women who’ve given so much for our country.
Fact Check: Tim Walz's Military Record - The Truth Behind the Claims
Alright, let's break this down a bit. The claim that Tim Walz falsely asserted he was a veteran of Afghanistan just doesn't hold up when you look at the facts. Here's what's up:
1. Service Record: Walz put in 24 years with the Army National Guard, hanging up his boots in 2005. His deployment? Italy in 2003 for Operation Enduring Freedom. Afghanistan or Iraq? Nope, not on his list of stations[1][2][3].
2. Timing of Retirement and Deployment: He retired on May 16, 2005. Guess what? His unit got their marching orders for Iraq two months later, in July 2005, and shipped out in March 2006. So, he wasn't dodging anything—his retirement came first[1][2][3].
3. Running for Office: Walz made the call to run for the U.S. House on February 10, 2005, before he retired. So he wasn’t escaping a deployment; he was shifting gears to politics beforehand[1][2][3].
4. Political Accusations: JD Vance threw some serious shade, accusing Walz of faking his military street cred by suggesting combat experience. Vance claims Walz retired to dodge deployment and lied about combat. But these allegations are more hot air than solid ground, with little evidence backing them up[1][2][3].
5. Walz’s Own Words: Walz has been pretty clear—he didn't see active combat. Sure, he trained folks and carried weapons, but he never said he was in a combat zone[1][2][3].
6. Backing from Peers: Fellow vets and colleagues stand by Walz, calling out his long, honorable service. They say his retirement was on the level and he didn’t mislead anyone about his service[1][2][3].
To sum it up, Walz served with honor, got deployed to Italy, and has never claimed to be an Afghanistan vet. The accusations against him seem more like political mudslinging than truth. Plus, he decided to run for office well before his unit's deployment was even a thing[1][2][3].

While MAGA tries to convince people that a 2.3% drop in the DOW today is a "Kamala Crash," even though she's not President, they completely have amnesia about the multiple "Trump crashes" that we saw when Trump WAS President.
And no, don't say, "it was COVID" because what I'm referring to happened in 2018, well before COVID. Don't believe me, see the videos below.
Trump refused to take blame and instead blamed the Fed for not pushing interest rates even lower. He literally wanted them to have negative interest rates. Now MAGA blames the fed for putting interest rates too low.
#OTD 1985 - In one of the most unusual plays in Cardinals history, Willie McGee and Vince Coleman steal 4 bases on one pitch! Coleman steals third and home while McGee steals second and third.
Jack Buck, Mike Shannon and Jay Randolph with the call! #STLCards#ForTheLou
@Cardinals@Buck Will never forget that game. My dad had passed away and we were packing up his apartment while watching the game. Found his cardinal red rosary-seconds later heard the crack of the bat from Freese. So many emotions, and still get goosebumps.
Donald Trump has repeatedly disrespected fallen soldiers and military service members, confirmed by numerous sources. Key remarks attributed to him include:
Aisne-Marne American Cemetery Visit (2018): Trump refused to visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris, calling the soldiers buried there "losers" and "suckers."
John McCain: Trump labeled the late Senator John McCain a "loser" for being captured during the Vietnam War and opposed lowering flags to half-staff in his honor.
George H.W. Bush: Trump called former President George H.W. Bush a "loser" for being shot down by the Japanese in World War II.
General John Kelly's Son: At the grave of John Kelly's son, who died in Afghanistan, Trump reportedly said, "I don't get it. What was in it for them?"
Wounded Veterans: Trump demanded wounded veterans be excluded from military parades, saying "nobody wants to see that" because it "doesn't look good for me."
General Mark Milley: Trump disparaged a wounded Army veteran, asking Milley, "Why do you bring people like that here? No one wants to see that."
General Attitude Towards Military Service: Trump expressed confusion over why anyone would serve in the military, questioned the value of finding soldiers missing in action, and called them "losers."
Humayun Khan: Trump publicly belittled the parents of Army Captain Humayun Khan, a Gold Star recipient killed in Iraq, after they criticized his anti-Muslim rhetoric.
These statements, confirmed by former White House officials like John Kelly, have sparked significant controversy and criticism throughout Trump's political career.
As we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom this Memorial Day, remember that supporting a man who disparages our fallen heroes dishonors their sacrifice. Let's uphold their legacy by respecting and valuing their ultimate commitment. Happy Memorial Day.
.@SpeakerJohnson Proud of what, Speaker Johnson? Your claim that "America's borders are wide open and Democrats want to turn noncitizens into voters" is not just misleading, it's a gross distortion of reality. Let's set the record straight: Federal law already strictly prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, enforced with severe penalties including fines, imprisonment, and potential deportation. The suggestion that Democrats are orchestrating a push to allow noncitizen voting in federal elections is completely unfounded and flies in the face of existing legislation.
It's troubling that you're propagating this narrative, which could only serve to undermine trust in our electoral system. The reality is, noncitizens voting in federal elections is illegal, full stop. Some local jurisdictions do allow noncitizens to vote in specific local elections, but these are limited strictly to local governance issues and do not extend to federal elections. This crucial distinction is completely ignored in your misleading rhetoric.
Moreover, your narrative dangerously skirts the border of xenophobia, casting a shadow over immigrants and painting them as a threat to the integrity of our elections. This tactic is not only divisive but deeply harmful to the fabric of our diverse society.
It's also very important to note:
Republicans have implemented measures that significantly hinder voting access for lower-income individuals, people with disabilities, and people of color. These measures include:
Restrictive Voting Laws: Strict voter ID requirements in Republican-led states disproportionately impact minorities, the elderly, and disabled individuals who may struggle to obtain necessary identification.
Reduced Voting Accessibility: Legislation has curtailed mail-in voting, early voting periods, and curbside voting, key options for those with disabilities or limited access to polling sites.
Polling Place Closures and Limited Ballot Drop Boxes: A marked decrease in polling locations and ballot drop boxes, particularly in minority-heavy areas, results in longer lines and increased travel times, deterring voter participation.
Voter Roll Purges: Aggressive and often discriminatory purges of voter rolls disproportionately remove lower-income and minority voters, frequently without proper notice or justification.
Gerrymandering: Strategic redistricting dilutes the electoral influence of minority communities, undermining their ability to elect representatives who advocate for their interests.
Legislation Impacting Disabled Voters: Recent bills have restricted voting methods and necessary accommodations for disabled voters, including assistance and accessible voting technology.
These actions collectively create significant barriers for vulnerable groups, undermining their ability to fully participate in the democratic process. November can't come soon enough. #VotingRights
