On 2 June 2021, authorities intercepted 805kg of pure cocaine worth an estimated R400 million hidden inside the hull of a ski boat being towed on the N1 near Pretoria.

The drugs were found in the boat’s hull and were being transported on a trailer pulled by a Ford Ranger.

Arrests were made at the time, yet the matter was removed from the court roll.

Serious questions remain:

What happened to the case?

Who were the syndicates behind the shipment?

Were there failures in the investigation or prosecution process?

@SAPoliceService and the @NPA_Prosecutes need to revisit this matter.

South Africa cannot allow major organised crime cases involving hundreds of millions of rands worth of cocaine to simply disappear without accountability.

We do know what Mel and Peet Viljoen allegedly stole and scanned improperly. That is why the “redemption/sweetheart tour” is so frustrating - Mel Viljoen keeps saying it was a credit card glitch and they were targeted because they are celebrities BUT the charge sheet is publicly available!

The allegations across all CCTV incidents (29 August 2025 to 8 March 2026) includes 52 transactions; 392 items allegedly stolen or improperly scanned. Total alleged loss: $5302.17

On the last day (8 March 2026) before their arrest on 10 March 2026, Peet Viljoen allegedly exited Publix with a trolly without paying. The contents included:
2 bottles of La Marca Prosecco
1 package of Charmin toilet paper
1 case of San Pellegrino Mineral Water
1 case of Maison Perrier Forever Lime Sparkling Water
1 pack of Coca Cola Zero

Mel actually paid for her items on the 8th but it is alleged she assisted in the overall scheme on the day and they worked in concert on the other days.
