On the 21st of April, the world woke up to the news of Pope Francis’ passing 🕊️.
Professor Itumeleng D. Mothoagae was called on by @Newzroom405 for an interview, to speak on how the late Pope Francis was an advocate for inclusion, humility, and why he chose the name Francis.
Prof Mothoagae was then interviewed on @Phalaphala FM to discuss the election processes of the Pope.
Thereafter @Radio702 invited Prof Mothoagae to speak on how extremism, ultra-conservatism, and liberation theology influenced the late Pope, and how the newly elected Pope will be.
The late Pope’s funeral will be streaming live tomorrow at 10:00am.
As the Chair of the Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies, we applaud Prof Mothoagae for his inputs, and acknowledge his belief as a Catholic Theologian.
