@BillSimmons@TheRewatchables@SeanFennessey@ChrisRyan77 At ~17 minute mark Sean spoils a movie he acknowledges most people haven't seen yet, with only about a 1 sec warning. I had definitely planned to see it in the next few weeks, and now basically know how it ends and was pretty annoyed. I scrambled to skip ahead but was late.
@SixthManShow BPI is a computer algorithm. It doesn't have intuition for when an improvement is real or not, so it tends to presume some regression for teams and players that dramatically improve.
@NBA_University "Marcus Camby with better offense" would be a heck of an outcome for any draft pick. No guarantee Chet even reaches that level. I respect your enthusiasm and I do take it as a valid data point that you and others are really impressed with Chet.
@NBA_University Maybe start with Marcus Camby comps (who was a great defensive player himself (DPOY, et al) just not HOF level) before going straight to KG comps.
@PapageorgiouMBO Most of the new city edition logos are indeed not good, *but* the whole point with the courts is to have a significantly distinct look for the tourney games. If you keep normal logos and add a trophy it's what they used to do for Finals games, not a distinct tournament look.
@BobbyMarks42 So this list does not include players whose rookie deal options were already declined in previous years (i.e. Smith, Bolmaro, Hampton, Azubuike).
@OMagicHQ This is a stats based computer projection. It's not people's predictions, it's just one offering of data. I think it's interesting to think about, and to consider where the discrepancies might be (probably shooting projections and player improvement vs historical comps in model).
@BobbyMarks42 Thanks. So it's a 35% initial extension (proj. 149.6M cap). If you *assume* 10% cap increases, could fall to 32.5% in year 5. Might I suggest including at least initial 1st yr cap percentages in future contract reporting?
@BobbyMarks42 E.g. Starting in 2024-25, a team's 1st round pick *seven years later* becomes unavailable to trade upon the first year exceeding the 2nd apron...
@BobbyMarks42 Bobby, you know your stuff and your instant recall is impressive. But, respectfully, you should consult an editor for your explanations - for grammar, details, and written/verbal clarity.
@BobbyMarks42 Under the new CBA, you have to be very careful not to give 35% contracts to anyone who is not top five, not give 30% contracts to anyone not top 15, etc. The analogy is not ordering at a restaurant, it's the restaurant identifying quality ingredients and not overbidding on costs.
@TheRewatchables@BillSimmons@SeanFennessey@akdobbins Kindly suggesting that if you don't know that straight flush beats four of a kind, maybe be less dismissive of the poker strategy in a fictional game. Enjoy these podcasts, but a tad more kindness and a tad less condescension might be good for everyone.
@OMagicHQ AB should be considered at 6, if you think shot will improve. Can play 1-2 and some 3. (Lonzo Ball type of role.) Maybe overlaps with Suggs, but high IQ two-way players thrive in playoffs. Would understand if Magic selected AB, but CW, Ausar, and Hendricks should be in the mix.
