Nearly 10 years of searching for my gr gr grandmother #AliceMiller. Tonight, Twitter and random acts of #Genealogy kindness helped me find her, and more info about her life.

I've built quick and dirty trees for at least 20 families with names similar to Derszan or a variation... and checked DNA matching.

A priest crossed out Unknown and wrote it later) depending on the record... death, alien registration, or son's marriage records there are different names

I can't find him leaving US to go anywhere or her coming via Canada even. I'm open to any suggestions or miracles

Fortunately I've found some info on the "husband" she left who was from #Grodno #Belarus I set her aside and work on him. He's hard, but willing to help. He's John #Derszan

Some progress, but not enough to trace. She doesn't want to be found yet #AliceMiller

She changed her name a lot / it's recorded differently . Diff immigration dates on census. I can find no naturalization, no manifest, several aliases, and no marriage records. #genealogy #brickwall

3. Closest immigrant my gr grandfather Ernest #Kohler . He came from Switzerland 🇨🇭 with his family in 1913 PS I think I'm biologically predisposed to love #fondue.
