@GailSimone @dana_howl If you're talking about 40k, then 9th ed, to me, saps all the fun out of the game. Too much bookkeeping and too many moving parts makes it feel more like a card game than a mini war game. If you want the best 40k experience, play eds 3-5.

Maybe it was fear of failure that made me think it was fine before, because, looking at it now, it's so obviously not fine. Maybe I was afraid of taking the next steps, in case it turned out to be the wrong decision.

I guess I'm getting better at this. This only took me a day, when, not long ago, it might've taken me weeks of sit-down sessions. Have I improved? Or was it just a fluke? Like anything else, how much of it is really me?

Because this was what it looked like when I started, and I thought it was good enough. Something (mostly sitting and staring at it in frustration) made me keep going. Was that right? Will the "thing" be there next time?

I don't know. Maybe I'm just tired, and overthinking it.
