Im total average casual player and only played pve in D1 and D2. Loved S1 and really enjoying S2 but already seeing the casual v more sweaty issues with sponsor kit and as much as I’ve loved it this last week seems out of balance. Can we not get these 2 parts working together? So NO sponsor kits in PVE only extracted weapons won or found in stared PVP mode. So to get better weapons for PVE missions/ interacts you must run PvP to get them? I’d love to play this loop just adds reason/objective to PvP runs and tougher maps give better weapons/mods?
I feel I’ve responded to your post with nothing but grief- so sorry Dylan I love my pouch and so sorry your having to go through this - I know at some time we will have to do the same - at the end of the day D2 is just a game and we could all do with getting better perspective- I’m going to and be better- and I’m loving s2 marathon
@TooDiffizzle I’ve been coded out 4 in a row and lost everything - oddly my team mate on two occasions stayed in the run - season 2 looks and feels great - just doesn’t seem to work so given up for now
@BNGServerStatus This is poor - game feels great but 3 runs in a row I’ve been coded out and lost everything - not how to win new players. Also have 200+ hrs in season 1 and get gear is much lower at start however uesc are horrendous- again this is plan to grow player base?
@A_dmg04 You make them difficult then complain about them - you’ve the most loyal and passionate base and have let us all down so badly then lament your challenges- try and stand up and push for what is right your cries of it’s not fair is becoming sad
Never thought I’d say this but thank goodness for marathon - just did d2 for weekly reset and again see enemy levels have been’tweaked’ just turned this crap off. Hopefully you guys can constrain yourselves to only game improvements in marathon or at very least be honest and communicate nerfs.
Enjoyed them all-mostly run solo and refreshing change to find legendary missions really well tuned and balanced - shame fireteam ops isn’t the same - the build that took me through the story is unplayable in solo fireteam but only last season I was able to solo most of them. I see even the timers have been significantly reduced again - why is FT ops not scalable based on number in FT? As a solo player content has again reduced to 7 portal missions and a couple of exotic ones if boobs are favourable
Ok unpopular I’m sure but D1 as console only meant a much better tuned experience - since then it feels like a constant battle between bungie and loadout spamming / crazy rotations with average players left behind. Add to this a live service game where power levels are now not even remotely reflective of actual difficulty as bungie constantly amp up enemy difficulty to offset power creep - most of the pinnacle and many of the standard ultimate fireteam missions have been massively tweaked up whilst power delta remains -30. Constant shifting goalposts I guess to try and offset the ‘broken’ builds but it’s become a joke
Loadout hot swap has damaged this game more than anything else - it drives encounter design that therefore MUST assume you are swapping to boss melt loadouts that wouldn’t get you through neutral gameplay- and therefore meaning we all have to as bosses are sponges for any general build. An issue only for dungeons and raids and no surprise most players don’t bother - you’d not need swapping if you’d not be able to previously - a really well crafted build would work for end to end and be far more inviting for newer players.
Couldn’t agree more - standard mode def tuned down to help hopefully more players into dungeons and the feats to add challenge and reward - feels like bungie got this right and would be nice to see the portal tweaked to better follow this model, though at present portal also feels pretty good with very wide range in terms of challenge you can choose to play
@A_dmg04@Destiny2Team@DestinyTheGame - all good but on solo quick play youve got your mod calcs wrong - at 550 I cannot get better than c+ which is in contradiction to your notes. Killed every add and cannot score beyond 10101 - and as no time bonus and no ability to inc difficulty cannot score a B.Don’t really care about loot impact but cannot complete orders as they need a b - are you aware and planning a fix?
@A_dmg04 Well no flat tyre, no leaks and TV on the wall - and oddly and for first time in a while actually having fun playing D2 - who’d have thought it! How’s you?
@Destiny2Team Great when are you targeting a fix on your newly released vanguard alerts which are impossible to progress as max out at C+ reward as no time bonus - had 2 runs sub 10 mins - so poor you are seeing this across almost every activity in the game - who is testing this?
@A_dmg04@A_dmg04 - so bonus is a B or better in quick play however absolute speed ran 3 in a row and all getting a c+ and therefore no bonus - why ffs, how hard is this to test this?
I really enjoyed the play it how you want to the original portal boons and stakes worked - most player advocacy I’ve ever seen bungie give.
This has now been removed under the guise of make it simpler.
So we now have static -30 everywhere in the game, inc solo which was meant to be a quick few mins of filler fun, needing to select almost every single meg mod at max level in custom to ensure a decent drop and the ongoing saga of matchmaking been untuned as above but in since the initial change was made.
All benefit gone, all player agency gone - took a working system and broke it.
Why not just revert back to normal, legendary and master similar to renegades storyline missions.
Hey @A_dmg04 - feels like this is a topic no one at bungie is interested in engaging on - standard portal ad difficulty has increased noticeably in renegades - is this a bug or bungie trying to make the new content feel better to play?
Would really appreciate a reply or acknowledgment - may not help if it’s a planned change but would be nice to know
@chivoshadow209@A_dmg04 This is 15% of community at most - d3 should be console only and stop cross play now - steam is destroying this game. How many steam players is d1 ???? =0
@LUCKYY10P I know you said you’d read all replies but any thoughts - as a well known CC and player do you see any disconnect between player base distribution and those developing and creating most of the content and narrative on the game?
Seems odd to think that D1 which so many (including me) see as the benchmark for destiny was back then console only - has making the game playable on steam overtime played any part in its decline to it’s current state do you think?
Side question which I think you’ve touched upon around DP raid - why is such high % of those who raid, esp contest mode pc players?
It’s odd - based on these numbers steam is only 15 to 20 % of players however almost entire game seems tuned for pc and content creators are almost entirely pc with mainly raid and pvp interests - feels like bungie now owned by a console maker are missing this so completely. I wonder how much play testing is done on ps5 and controller vs pc work m and k?
@A_dmg04 communication is a 2 way thing - are you intending to play back each day you ask for and get feedback a summary of what you guys are taking from it in terms of community sentiment or is this just a tickbox exercise?
If I read the first 30 or so it’s 1-fix bugs please followed by 2-gaming tuning is off.
As almost every player has a different view on what level of challenge is FUN to play do you have any intention to put this back into players hands as per original approach in EOF or just double down on selling buffs that content creators can create more content for whilst increasing the ad difficulty in the background to ‘protect’ the sanctity of the game
