Fast forward to 2023, 20 years after the original song Have You Forgotten was released and hit number one for 7 weeks on the country radio airplay charts and 22 years after the attacks of 9/11! @wynnvarbleofficial and I sat down to write again. As we were talking about the 20th anniversary of Have You Forgotten, we looked around at the current state of our country! We examined our own hearts and took a deep introspective look at ourselves. We see a nation divided by politics and rhetoric that is designed by lifelong politicians who know that a nation divided is weak and a people divided are easy to manipulate! It’s heart breaking to see our great nation in this state of chaos and division. What happened to Americans being all red, white, and blue! What happened to agreeing to disagree but working it out for the best of this nation and it’s people! What happened to putting personal issues aside for the greater good of our nation! Our nation was a beacon for all to see but today’s divisions are deep and they are ugly. We see Americans attacking Americans! We have to fear our own people not outside invaders. As we talked and examined our own hearts out poured Have We Forgotten. A sequel to Have You Forgotten for todays times. It’s a plea for coning together!
