Liverpool Football Club celebrates its 134th birthday today ๐
The club officially came into existence on June 3, 1892, after founder John Houlding set about creating a new team on Merseyside that year ๐ด
A special story was underway... โจ
Beyond the identity of the new head coach - Andoni Iraola is expected to be appointed and intensity is his identity, but his European experience is severely lacking and it is unknown how heโll cope with increased pressure and a greater schedule - Liverpool need to spell out their long-term strategy and shed light on the futures of Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes.
These are the men ultimately directing the club and making the big decisions, so clarity is paramount.
On the face in the dugout, Luis Enrique is probably the only name that would arrive without question marks were he available, but he would expect proper control. Are Liverpool too attached to their desire for a head coach moving forward?
I think itโs important if you want supporters to buy into and be immersed in a journey, for them to know what the plan is.
Arne Slot deserves immense gratitude for delivering a Premier League title, and even more so, for the care and grace he showed while guiding the club through the grief of losing Diogo Jota.
But Liverpool have made the right decision to let him go. Conditions have changed, what they need now is not the same as when he was appointed, and there wasnโt evidence that he could fix the problems nor handle the next phase.
@YazzLFC Grav got a new contract on the basis of a decent season. Dom going to renew and he will hit the 300k bracket I think. The club is badly run with plenty of odd decisions. Worrying times
@marQspekt Tough but EPMD for me as they had a buzz each time they dropped an album. Can't say that really happened with Gang Starr till Daily Operation. Not the popular opinion either but I'm old enough to remember the buzz around EPMD
@JasonLFC1979 The club is a mess right now and if they believe he can turn it round why not extend his contract rather than the whole will he won't he be here after next season
It Takes Two was pure Golden Age Hip-Hop B-Boy GOLD. Back when tracks didn't have to be about Drugs/Money/Violence. No name checking "brands". Just for the dance floor Fun Of It.
