HAPPENING NOW | Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, is currently engaging with the Benoni Taxi Association leaders in Brakpan as part of the Department’s ongoing stakeholder engagement programme.
The engagement is focused on addressing operational challenges facing the association, strengthening collaboration with the taxi industry, and identifying practical solutions to improve the delivery of public transport services.
“Let me be clear: government does not have a problem with supporting this industry. But we cannot support illegality. When we speak about eradicating illegal operations, we do so because compliance is non-negotiable. This is not a punishment, it is a path to sustainability,” MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela.
