Test your smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and all ground-fault circuit interrupters. Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors should be tested monthly.

@Make_It_Right I recommend a small ABC in the kitchen and a larger 5 pound extinguisher 🧯 in the garage or mechanical room. Occupants should also learn how to use it effectively (sweep the flame at its base to smother the fire 🔥)

Consider conducting a Blower Door test/thermography to identify vapour barrier leaks before drywalling. This will ensure that your wall is more energy efficient, but also moisture isn’t being introduced into the wall cavity.

Be prepared for future solar power installation. A solar powered home requires easy changes from standard construction, such as a solar rough-in.
