Think it's weird all you want. It is weird, it's supposed to be weird, in most cases with anime it's used as comedic relief. It's not meant to be taken seriously. It being weird doesn't make it pedophilia though. There are no children involved and anime characters don't even look like real people. A real person looking like that would be uncanny valley.
