Excited to be speaking at this #Genomics & Precision Medicine event today at Queen Mary University London. A stellar line up of speakers including the mighty @generoom the Don of UK Genomics - Mark Caulfield and the inspirational Helen Firth.
A year ago in Davos I predicted a "Dreadnought moment" for AI.

Is DeepSeek the Dreadnought moment?
No, it's just a small change in the recipe, but it's indicative that there's plenty more room for innovation. DeepSeek won't be the last DeepSeek ...
We are delighted that Michael Hubank (@Generoom, Head of Clinical Genomics (Research) @royalmarsdenNHS) is joining us next week at #FOG2025! Don’t miss hearing from him, register now: https://t.co/ZyOFd1o0g1

#Cancer remains a leading cause of death in children, with the emergence of treatment resistance being the main problem. We need serially matched data on evolving tumours to understand what causes resistance! Thanks @CR_UK for funding studies like this. https://t.co/ooCHP3Q4TK
🎄 Merry Christmas! 🎄
🔔 As Advent ends, the 12 Days of Christmas🎄begin!
Join me for a deeper dive into the initiatives shown in this map - from Data Science Africa to @ai.cam.ac.uk - as we explore practical responses to AI challenges.

Brilliant. @mattloose@SjsmithStuart and Simon Paine are really paving the way for rapid Nanopore Dx in England. Huge creds! And thankyou for supporting us as we aim to establish this @NorthThamesGMS 😃
Congrats to @SjsmithStuart and Dr Simon Paine for winning the #NIHAwards Innovation award for work on bringing @nanopore sequencing into the clinic for rapid brain tumour diagnosis.
Interested in how low-cost, high accuracy sequencing can be used to assess #ctDNA? The come along to #FOG2025 to hear from @Landau_Lab (Assistant Professor and Associate Core Member, @NYGenome)! You can register here: https://t.co/63nvhEdayy

hello @wesstreeting : honestly, the best thing to do is ensure that the UK National Screening Committee are doing the best job in critically appraising up to date evidence and making fair recommendations;
@RugbyGeneStudy I cant believe this was even proposed. From a genetic testing perspective alone it would be hopelessly undeliverable: no capacity, expensive, impossible to follow up clinically at scale, so almost certainly inequitable, and highly likely to be damaging to individuals. Bonkers.
