Working on the bump and set with 4th/5th grade in an activity called Beach Ball in a Basket! (AKA - Beach Ball in a Hula Hoop 🤷♀️. Gotta use what you’ve got!!). @fernbrooknj@PhysEd4AllKids Shout out to @justybubPE!
I tried Battle Bowl last Friday with 5th grade! Ss are on teams. When a team knocks the pin down, they move it 1 poly spot closer to their opponent. Game is over when 1 team moves the pin to the last poly spot on their opponents side, and knocks it down.
One thing I love doing while teaching #PhysEd is having students read our learning targets after we complete our Instant Activity. 🎯
It helps set the hook, shows students that PE is about learning, and prepares students to understand what, why, & how they're expected to learn.

Ss are working on throwing in #physed today. Throw the lifebuoy (disc) into the water (hoop) to save the swimmers. If successful, bring the hoop back. Save the most swimmers to win.
🔺SHAPES🔺
Ss are working on team building in #physed today. Create the shape shown on the screen in one minute. Use all group members.

Wanted something to promote more independence during volleyball for my student who uses arm crutches (or Ss in wheelchairs) so an adult doesn’t need to hold a ball/something for her. This was a cheap DIY option 👌🏼 #AdaptedPE
Such a fun was to review going over, under, through and around! Ss had turns as teacher, student, and helper! All students active the entirety of this warm up activity! #ashlandsoar
Culture is not just one thing; it’s everything. Culture drives expectation and beliefs. Expectations and beliefs drive behaviors. Behaviors drive habits. And habits create the future. It all starts with culture.

but, also, anything that @PeteWestby and @JodysAPE do are amazing. They're both such masters at modifying equipment, as are SO many amazing #APE teachers out there. Just genius! #iahperdchat
Leaders, it is the little things that build culture. Greeting staff, students, parents, in the halls, cafeteria, bus line, car pool, & visiting classes. Asking how they are doing, asking about family, and taking time to listen. This builds relationships, culture, and team!
