Executive Chair Greg Lilleyman, non-executive director John Hodder and CEO Andrew Taplin continue to lead Genmin’s in-country engagement with the team meeting #Gabon’s Minister of Mines, His Excellency Sosthène Nguema Nguema, as well as senior government representatives.
Genmin was pleased to re-sign and extend its power agreement with Société de Patrimoine for the Baniaka #iron ore project.
The agreement supports the long-term supply of #renewable#hydropower from the Grand Poubara Hydropower Station, located ~30km from the project.

Our Investment @GenminASX $GEN has just extended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baowu Resources Holding for project offtake for its iron ore project in Gabon.
Baowu is the largest steel producer in the world - it was also one of the early offtakers in FMG, then known as Baosteel, FMG’s first shipment back in 2008 was delivered to them. (source)

On Saturday, 12 April 2025, #Gabon voted to elect @oliguinguema Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema as President, with an overwhelming 90% of votes cast in his favour, in a contest against seven other presidential candidates. Gabon's Presidential Election was peaceful, overseen by international observers and with more than 70% of voter turnout. The provisional result is pending validation by the Constitutional Court, and the President Elect is expected to be inaugurated before the end of April 2025.
