@AnArtfulPenguin@AdamKinzinger Itβs about the chain of command. The VP is the direct backup to the President so returning a salute has become an accepted ceremonial courtesy for them. The Secretary of DHS is a civilian Cabinet member. Civilians shouldn't salute. They should nod or place a hand over their heart.
@BillCassidy I voted for you but It wasn't easy. Maga and Trump were never going to forgive you but there are plenty of Republicans and moderates that deserved representation. Every Trump commercial you ran lost votes that could have been yours.
@atrupar We were not born yesterday. We all fully understand that that gas prices always go up quickly and come down very slowly. The full effects of the closure of the Strait haven't even hit yet so this will get much worse before it even starts to improve.
@SteveScalise Seriously? Between taxes, medical bills, groceries, gas, and the insane Louisiana insurance rates I didn't notice. Oh, maybe that's because we don't get tips or overtime. The economic pain in your district is real but day after day you post crap like this. Thanks for nothing!
@jericho_kings@BasedMikeLee Why would he? It is completely irrelevant. Since shortly before 1900 court rulings have been consistent on this subject. What was posted here is just one man's opinion from the civil war era. It is completely meaningless to the discussion.
@Dave58897448135@adammocklerr OMG, you are just as ignorant as Trump. Read up on him a bit. McCain could have been released at any time, because of his father, but he refused and was horrifically tortured as a result. My father, who served during the Korean War, told me McCain's story 100 times.
@badjin_rank@micyoung75 The Newburgh story is well known history: Washington rejected the crown and went home...twice. The Arlington quote comes from Trump's chief of staff John Kelly, and several witnesses. Dismissing that as a hack job skips the actual point which is all about character... and power.
@simpsonsfiend75 @LibBlocker4000 @brad_theory@DKThomp Oh, I can't vote Republican as long as the party is hijacked and I have never voted for Trump. I have lost more than a few friends and family members over politics in recent years. I sometimes think I am the only Republican who ever actually looked at their pocket constitution
@A1012080@michaelSD1717@took_ur_@TheRickWilson He was exercising his 1st amendment rights. That is the most important gift we recieved from our founding fathers.Protesting about something the government is doing that you disagree with is the most patriotic thing you can do.People being murdered for exercising #1 is horrifying
@BillMelugin_@FoxNews Why is this gun on the seat of a car and not on the ground circled in chalk? If it is his gun which I doubt, they tampered with evidence.
@darkblue714@rgoodlaw Several shot appear to have been fired after the man was motionless so... this excuse won't work. I did see a photo of a gun sitting on the seat of a car. It wasn't on the ground circled by chalk or anything like you would normally see in an investigation. Guns are legal there.
@mburm201@EggerDC What you meant to say was "HOW DARE you break down the door of an elderly US citizen and perp walk him through the snow, in his underwear, under the pretext of looking for sex offenders that 1) he has no associations with and 2) are already in prison." Constitution be damned
@BohoPatriotgrl@micyoung75@mattvanswol@SenTinaSmith People, including US citizens, were not being arbitrarily nabbed off the street without warrants and they were not being denied due process. I donβt have a lot of good things to say about Obama but I, and every other Republican in the country, would have gone ballistic if he had
