🌟 “Small steps lead to big results!” The first 20 genomes sequenced by ATLASea and sampled in Leucate, Roscoff & Marseille are now published and available on our data portal. A milestone in our journey to explore marine biodiversity!

Discover #ATLASea, a #France2030 research programme to build an atlas of marine genomes. First step, sampling marines species #DIVEsea, then sequencing their genomes #SEQsea and managing all the data #BYTEsea.

@PEPR_ATLASea is thrilled to announce its affiliation with @EBPgenome, a global initiative aiming to sequence the DNA of all known eukaryotic species on our planet. By joining forces, we're contributing to a global effort to better understand the #genomes of #biodiversity 🌍🔬🧬
ATLASea Days - Our first meeting on the Data Management Plan took place on 1-2 June at @IBENS_ENS and gathered over 40 participants of @PEPR_ATLASea. Standard procedures for samples and data management will ensure the smooth flow of information between partners and ATLASea DB.

10. These patterns of parallel diagonals and crosses, when comparing the Northern Pike and the Rainbow Trout, are caused by a whole genome duplication in salmonids (which include trouts but not pikes), as explained here: https://t.co/aL5pOsiXfb
Hope that made sense!
Genomicus v107 is out! https://t.co/631YcbSSLv Based on @ensembl v107, see how 3 Northern Pike chromosomes 🐟 neatly show duplicated rainbow trout homologous chromosomes as parallel or intersecting diagonals https://t.co/Zqjn6PGLiV Why do I see these lines? An explanation 1/10 🧵
9. Now, if the second set of duplicated genes in genome 2 is flipped in the other orientation (remember, the orientation is arbitrary), then we have a “cross” instead of two parallel diagonals, as in Northern Pike chromosome 10.
