On Saturday, 21 Sept, we reached 6,897.5 m, the target drilling depth 980 m below the seafloor❗️
Thanks to the drilling team, #Chikyu set a new record for #ScientificOceanDrilling w/a total drill pipe length of 7,906 m. LWD tools are now being recovered.

On Sunday, 22 Sept, the drill pipe was recovered on deck, completing LWD here, while #Chikyu has started moving to the next drill site. 🚢✨
The picture shows the drill bit (after recovery) that worked so hard for the expedition; good job❗️
