When you frown a lot, the attachment point of those muscles tugs on the bone and physically changes your facial structure. This goes for any facial expression. Even your diet changes the shape of your face and skull.

People who look stupid look this way because they are slack jawed and not self aware. Their face slowly melts into an unrecognizable shape.

In my line of work, I have spoken with and categorized hundreds of thousands of people, if not even more than that. There are patterns I have noticed between different people even from opposite sides of the world. Two people that look similar, also act similar, despite being from totally different ethnic backgrounds.
