The staff at Galashiels Academy have been working hard to update their knowledge on Retrieval Practice and how it can best be used in the classroom. The next few posts will show some of the resources the LTA Group have been sending out to support this work.
Next up in our Retrieval Practice resources was a focus on the positives Retrieval Practice can bring to the classroom and how to support passive learners and bilingual students.
Our Learning and Teaching Group have been working hard to put together fortnightly bulletins to share with staff. The bulletin attached is the beginning of our study into Retrieval Practice and the positive impact it can have on information retention.
This week in S2 Social Subjects, students have worked hard to create their own 3D maps. Students did well to show their understanding of height, shape of the land and symbols whilst creating these works of art. Well done to everyone involved.
Last week, 10 of our senior students made the trip to COP26 in Glasgow to learn about Climate Change. Here is a short video to highlight their great day of learning.
