@SoilsAtGuelph@GrainFarmers@OntFarmerNews@OntAg This year, we are investigating the interaction of Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) with nitrogen fertilization at the Simcoe Research Station. ERW itself combined with MRV monitoring provides a path to reducing and optimizing long-term fertilization. #ClimateSmartAg#UNDOCarbon
@Soil_Science@SoilsAtGuelph Compaction is usually treated as a cost. ERW (Enhanced Rock Weathering) flips the script on that: non‑compacted soils are required for effective weathering, so fixing soil structure becomes an investment that unlocks carbon removal revenue.
@OntarioSoilCrop We need to talk about ERW in Ontario. Now that there are MRV protocols and voluntary carbon markets, it has become a commercial reality. Yet there is more fundamental and applied science to sort, and stakeholder engagement is critical to supporting and expanding uptake.
