Re-use of the UK's coal mine water resource is increasing in scale.
Read our paper to understand how we can demonstrate early insights into measuring & monitoring heat-flow processes to provide an evidence base for UK geothermal research.

We have been undertaking #geomechanical studies on North Sea wells since the late 1990’s and have amassed an extensive archive of field-specific models our clients can use, providing a cost-effective resource to aid the design of their P&A programs.

One of our most popular blogs is on the challenges of drilling through fractured & faulted formations and how it may be inevitable to achieve well objectives.
Find out how we have helped clients overcome these challenges for successful production: https://t.co/t1EHFt9c68
Our Technical Specialist Rick Hicks attended the UK Mining Conference in Cornwall last week at the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth.
It was a chance to catch up with the industry's news, innovations, opportunities and using geothermal energy for sustainable development.
Congratulations to Rendesco for securing investment to develop low-carbon heat using ground source heat pumps as an alternative to gas grids.

Our Geothermal Specialist Peter Ledingham is attending the #minewatersymposium24 in Edinburgh this week.
@ourdynamicearth sets the scene perfectly, as we look at exploring and harnessing the natural resources in the sub-surface & repurposing existing infrastructure.

Thanks to the @BritGeoSurvey, @IEA, Department of Energy Security & Net Zero and @CoalAuthority for organising.
The Chinese superdeep borehole is now over 6 miles down!
Since the start of drilling on May 30, 2023, the borehole has penetrated 13 continental strata, with more than 1000 drill pipes driven into the Earth & over 20 drill bits consumed in the process.

Brilliant work from @Microsoft who have gone all in on their ambitious zero-carbon goals to reduce their carbon footprint at their campus in Washington. Using a ground source heating & cooling system with a total of 875 boreholes and 220 miles of piping!

We worked with @Cenergist & @BritGeoSurvey on the design of the two closed-loop GSHP borehole arrays for these installations at Keyworth. The arrays have been designed to deliver long-term sustainable ambient energy from the ground, whilst minimising parasitic pumping energy.
Congratulations to @BritGeoSurvey for breaking ground on their GSHP project at the headquarters in Keyworth.
The system will deliver low-carbon heat to the buildings and also serve as a 'living laboratory'.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay2024!
We would like to showcase women working in the STE(A)M sectors and to #inspireinclusion we celebrate the wide range of skill sets we have in our company from geology and engineering to HR, finance and communications.
The oldest fossilised forest on Earth - dating from 390 million years ago - has been identified in fossils found along the Somerset and Devon coast, UK. Published in the Journal of the Geological Society, read more https://t.co/43RJjJ1ArX @Cambridge_Uni#Geology#Geoscience
Gool Peran Lowen, Happy St Pirans Day to all of our friends, colleagues and fellow Cornish folk!
We are grateful to be able to live and work in such a fantastic County, with some of the best geology on display :)
On #WorldEngineeringDay we are pleased to launch the first in a series of educational animations & teacher resource packs!

We are pleased to support the decarbonisation of @nationaltrust's 17th-century property, Kingston Lacy, using a high-temperature GSHP system.
We completed the feasibility, the design & tender specification for 32 vertical boreholes and 6,000 m of pipework.
