Occupied Syria. Abducted Alawite Woman Appears in Forced Marriage to Salafist.

Mira Jalal Thabat, an Alawite woman previously engaged to a young man from her community, was reportedly kidnapped in Talkalakh and has now appeared wearing an Afghan-style niqab, allegedly "married" to a Salafist militant.

Family sources claim Mira was taken captive and coerced into marriage, with her father reportedly detained for the purpose of signing documents in agreement of the narrative presented by the jihadist authorities.

Mira's appearance, visibly distressed, underscores the ongoing violations against minority women, including forced conversions and marriages.
