@JustLycos@EaterOfRats102 Because you think there's nothing there and no culture since you dont bother to learn more. This is why we hate Europeans. When did you become such a europrick?
@tijs010010@animatingcuber@Brody_wx It was tested only against wind? The point the other person made was, has it been tested with 100mph debris. Plus they cost double to build and resell higher.
"Haha Americans died in a tornado."
"Haha Americans died in a shooting."
"Haha Americans died of diabetes."
"How dare Americans mock us for acting apocalyptic over a hot day."
This is tallest skyscraper in the city of Lubbock, Texas. It's not much, but this particular skyscraper is quite unique not for what it is but for what happened to it.
Perhaps you noticed the slightly different shade of bricks that occur about 1/3rd of the way up. That's because this squat skyscraper, in 1970, was directly in the path of a tornado. An F5 tornado.
An F5 tornado is a tornado with winds in excess of 500km/h. That is not a typo. That is what directly collided into this skyscraper. Twisted it like an empty aluminium soda can until it broke in half and toppled.
F5 tornados don't just form out of nowhere, the supercells that spawn them almost always follow flash-flood levels of rain and even worse, golfball to softball sized hail. I've experienced softball-sized hail twice in my life. Sounds like heaven is dropping boulders on the roof of your house when they hit. That size of hail is also deadly to anyone stuck outside without cover.
Supercells are so common here that the weather has cultivated its own strain of them endemic to this region. They're called Lubbock Supercells and the second image here is exactly that: an evening supercell about to clobber Lubbock, again.
IIRC, the most powerful tornado ever to hit your country was an F2 -- which isn't much faster than the typical dust devils that are always raging around Lubbock during any given time of the year. Laughably harmless, in other words. As teenagers we used to try to drive our cars right into them for shits and grins. Perhaps you've seen that viral video of the US Marine who ran right into a larger dust devil which is comparable in wind speed to the same weaksauce tornados that terrify your fellow British citizens.
What I'm saying here is you'd piss and shit your pants sideways if you ever experienced a supercell storm that hits Lubbock several times a year on average. You Euros have no fucking clue about anything when it comes to America yet you run your fucking mouths like you do.
Maybe you should cut it out already.
@iggie404@michael_sorrow@CatsandCanes@JustLycos you say we dont understand. we say we do and provide examples. you say we're dumb bcuz of house difs and start immediate insults when we ask abt AC so we give up on pleasant convo.
@JustLycos its because the Europeans bitch about temps that are mild to us and say we dont have it as bad because we have no humidity. which extremely false. try 95Β° in Florida

Yeah ik, nothing fancy, but I've always been a fan of trucks over everything else
Best part is, I might end up owning one here very soon :3
