Former Regional Minister of the Central Baptist Association, Former President of the Baptist Union, bassoonist, baker, husband, dad, grandad. Myeloma 2020.
A wonderful day yesterday - the Darius Wind Quintet (minus 1) reunion after nearly 50 years. All stellar professional musicians with me diversifying to become a minister! Thank you Margaret Campbell, David Fuest, David Thomas - let’s do it again!
Four years ago today I underwent stem cell transplant. At present, with maintenance chemo, the cancer is not progressing. I’m hugely grateful for this, and for the NHS, as well as family and friends who have travelled this path with me.
In January 2015 I saw a kingfisher for the first time and since then there have been numerous sightings. The kingfisher has become an abiding motif and informed my theme as President of the Baptist Union, 'Attentive to rhythms of grace.' A joy to see one the last two days!
@kathystott I’m really sorry to have missed this. A couple of years ago I was made an Honorary Ecumenical Canon at Christ Church and it is a beauty of a building.
@SarahWoods66 It was. We had eleven family holidays in North Wales and this was the first time we’ve been back as part of our Ruby Anniversary for eighteen years. Today it was lovely to revisit Nantol Waterfall, Ynys, where we stayed for ten years, and Llandecwyn church.
@TheVCS@BenQuash Since I first saw this beautiful and enchanting interview I have now read all of her novels. (Previously I’d read her magnificent book on John Donne.). I’ve been greatly enriched as a consequence and look forward to more.
