Dear @SecretaryWright: Some deep questions for your deep thoughts:
-Did you know the sun still shines during winter?
-Did you know that solar panels rely on sunlight rather than warmth?
In fact, solar panels can operate even more efficiently during the winter.
Rep. Fletcher: The New World screwworm has been found in Texas. This flesh-eating parasite previously eradicated from the U.S. poses a huge threat to our cattle. Last March, the Trump administration fired more than 15,000 USDA employees and eliminated a program to contain the screwworm in Central America. The threat of New World screwworm is just one consequence of the Trump administration's reckless campaign to eliminate funding for government programs that Americans rely on.
DOGE cut 15K USDA jobs that included monitoring of screwworms in Mexico.
They also cut funding for a project, that released sterile flies, that helped maintain a buffer between Latin American cattle and our domestic cattle.
Make sure to thank a Republican.
The ocean is heating at an unprecedented level, killing sea life and raising water levels and increasing natural disasters like hurricanes. Dismantling our ability to monitor the deep ocean will be detrimental.
Notice he doesn't distinguish between legal and illegal immigration. It's just "immigrants are bad." Immigrants provide skills and on-the-ground knowledge that enhance national security. There are thousands of immigrants working in critical national security roles right now.
@DJRTistic "I partially agree with both of their points"
that's why the show was great. you could have an intelligent, thought provoking discussion about a comedy.
then they would go on the radio or Letterman and Gene would make fat jokes 🙃
Wild time
We don’t have the First Amendment anymore. To be clear, this outcome is purely the result of overt government coercion on Paramount. When the government controls the economy, this is the result everywhere. Free markets are necessary for free speech
Purposely not monitoring and ignoring changes in the natural world defines this administration
Ignorance is not bliss 🌊🌊
Trump Administration to Dismantle Ocean Monitoring System https://t.co/9BdSjKty5e via @NYTimes
JUST IN: Attorneys for the now-cleared "Broadview Six" argue in a new court filing the U.S. attorney's office should have to pay legal fees and other expenses due to "sordid" misconduct.
They're asking for discovery and a hearing -- where key players could have to testify.
The Trump administration is sending ships to rip 900 ocean sensors out of the Atlantic and Pacific — and Congress already told them twice they couldn't do it.**
They're doing it anyway.
UPDATE: Dulce Diaz was in fact a U.S. citizen and the Trump admin has now acknowledged the fact and issued her a passport. Below was DHS’s angry (and utterly false) claim to the contrary.
Proof that, yes, ICE has at times detained US citizens in error.
The biggest news isn't that Trump is appointing someone without a national security background to a position that, by law, requires "extensive" experience. It's that Pulte earned Trump's trust by using **mortgage** records to pursue perceived political enemies. Now this top henchman will have access to some of our most sensitive intelligence and exquisite capabilities. That's why this is so noteworthy -- and concerning.
“By dismantling such a system, we push the United States back yet again into a rear seat in global scientific leadership.”
#gop loves pedos and hates science
#climateScience
Science gasps for breath. They are removing all the ocean monitors to understand changes in currents and climate, and the excuse is a master class in obfuscation & double speak . (1/2) https://t.co/vs782YbcI3
