My daughter who is a serving officer had to endure the degrading experience of a detained suspect spitting in her face on Saturday requiring hospital treatment, which is totally unacceptable. This is not how those who protect the most vulnerable in society should treated.

I am not sure that this government has the foresight to embrace the potential consequences of their fiscal actions especially with regard to funding our police service and the rest of the public services. Reducing funding further will put at risk those must vulnerable.
