@samanthamaiden@newscomauHQ Jenny Morrison was spot on. Some may not like it. Manners are important - a more fruitful way of making your point. Ms Tame's honour came from reforming an arcane Tasmanian law. Reform/change comes from addressing where reform is needed. Keep to the point
@MattBrannRURAL@NTCattlemen@troysetter @sokitomi @cattlecouncilau @NTFarmers@AustAgCo@AdamCoffeyNT I think that the community ie consumers will become more demanding about the environmental credentials of all food producing sectors. Banks too will increasing want borrowers to have 'environmental plans'.
@MichaelS_Guerin@qclnews@NationalFarmers The issue of truth-in-labelling was an issue at NSW Farmers' Association >20 years ago. Water-added extracts aren't 'milk'; plant proteins aren't meat.
These substitutes should be challenged under Australian Consumer Law as deceptive & misleading conduct.
@MichaelS_Guerin@qclnews@AgForceQLD@SenMcDonald Truth-in-labelling is a vexed issue never fully addressed by government. Milk is a mammalian secretion - not some protein water added extract. A plastic container containing pork cannot be labelled 'made from local & imported ingredients'
@MichaelS_Guerin@qclnews My experience of dealing with Bank Australia was when I was living on a farm. They claimed I was in breach of my loan agreement. I asked them to produce it & state which part; the produced their proforma agreement that I'd never signed. They couldn't produce any document I signed
@stockandland It was all in a 2015 White Paper. Read it and do your research: Office of Northern Australia (2015). Our North, Our Future: White Paper on Developing Northern Australia. Canberra, ACT. Not all people are suited to farm work this work assists rural and regional communities.
@ABCRural Also Madura Tea is another home grown product. Grown on the northern rivers area of NSW. You can buy it in supermarkets. It's a pretty good brew.
@MattBrannRURAL@abclandline@ABCRural Seems unusual that new plaintiffs can add themselves to the action post the judgment. If they weren't a party in the original action why can they get on the titty bottle now? Great piece of rent seeking. It devalues the basis of litigation. Do they have to prove actual loss?
@ABCRural Best he go no where!!! He's been fined squillions in NSW for his environmental damage by illegal tree clearing. The only value in this story is to tell us that he'll damage more land and plunder more of the soil's wealth. #environment#plunderer#climatechange
I'm an environmentalist also a realist. Farming must be more environmentally accountable. We all have a role to play. The most important is to realise that working with biodiversity will enhance productivity. This should be our response.
