I’m excited to announce my forthcoming book, BLACK OUT LOUD!

I wrote the book I’ve always wanted to read -- about the golden age of ’90s Black sitcoms, how that moment came to be, and the long history of Black comedy as a force that reshaped culture.

A lawsuit in Missouri could have implications for the nation's historically Black colleges and universities. Current and former students at Lincoln University are suing the state for $549 million, alleging it systematically underfunded the school.

Great conversation with @GeoffRBennett on @PBS NewsHour about how to end Russia’s war against Ukraine and achieve a just and lasting peace - one that requires sustained support for Ukraine, coordinated action by the United States and its allies, and clear consequences for Moscow.
Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. Any negotiations concerning Ukraine’s future, security, or territorial integrity must include Ukraine as a full participant.
We must also not forget the people suffering under Russian occupation in Oleshky, in Ukraine’s Kherson region, where residents face a dire humanitarian crisis. The use of hunger as a weapon against Ukrainians evokes one of the darkest chapters in our history: the Holodomor, the genocide of the Ukrainian people perpetrated by the Soviet regime in 1932–1933. We must not allow such suffering to be repeated, and the plight of Oleshky’s residents must not be ignored.
Thank you to @nickschifrin for his meaningful contribution to the discussion and for his reporting on Ukraine.

Is productive debate still possible when we disagree on so much?

That's what we're putting to the test in our new #JustTheFacts Debate featuring @benshapiro and @profgalloway moderated by PBS Newshour’s @GeoffRBennett. Data doesn’t argue. They do.

Famed soprano Martina Arroyo has died. She was 90.

With her luminous voice and ease on stage, the Harlem native broke barriers as one of the first major Black opera stars in the 1960s and 1970s.

She was also familiar to the nation's TV viewers at the time as a frequent guest on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show."

In 2013, she was honored by the Kennedy Center, just one of her many awards.

Arroyo announced her retirement in 1989 and devoted herself to teaching.

A federal judge has once again ordered the White House to restore access for three news organizations — CNN, MS NOW and Politico — that President Trump banned last month over their coverage of his administration.

At a time when Americans are debating affordability, opportunity, and the role of government, it’s worth starting from the same set of facts. I moderated @BenShapiro and @profgalloway as they debated about the American Dream, grounded in data @USAFacts, with founder @Steven_Ballmer at the Fact Desk. A substantive conversation between two people with very different perspectives — and a reminder that disagreement can still leave room for common ground. Watch: https://t.co/LYTVGdNrQM

Grandma Joy is a delight! Such a great story.

[PBS News @NewsHour]

Eleven years ago, Brad Ryan took his grandmother, Joy, camping in the Smoky Mountains after hearing that she had never seen a mountain. That one trip to a national park turned into dozens, and eventually “Grandma Joy’s Road Trip” took them to every one.

@GeoffRBennett spoke with Brad and Joy about their book and travels.
