@Ornid while up to four at Spurn in early 2012 was unusual. In 2019, 100 were seen in Bridlington Bay in February, only c.50 in the mild winters of 2020 and 2021 but 112 in February 2023.

@Ornid Yes: 160 still the max. 'Bridlington Bay, from Ulrome north to Flamborough South Cliffs, has been the most important wintering site, with 100 there in February 1957 and 160 on 4th March 1983. There was large influx in the cold winter of 2011 when 120 were off Ulrome....
