Amazing trip to North Wales to see Britain’s first WESTERN REEF HERON at Foryd Bay, Caernarfon performing brilliant with nice Little Egret for comparison✔️Then on to South Stack to see Woodchat Shrike,4 Choughs,3 Puffins,3 ravens finishing at Cemlyn for Arctic terns.👍
Holt Heath-24.5.26. No sign of Red Foot between 5pm and dusk, but great views of a Nightjar walking back to road lay-by,2 hobbies, Red kite, Dartfords and stonechats.

No further sight or sound of the Eastern Subalpine at Cow Gap by late afternoon! No birders there when I left, Lesser Whitethroat, many whitethroats, chiffchaffs, blackcap, Cetti’s and stonechats, kestrel that’s about it unfortunately.
Church Norton and Sidlesham Ferry Pool- Temmincks Stint on West side,2 l r plovers,1 common sand.4 brilliant Roseate Terns,1 little gull,3 whimbrel and 2 barwits from the benches.👍

Fishlake Meadows-8.30 to 11.Osprey perched in dead tree,1 Marsh harrier,2 Cuckoos,1Great Egret,3 red kites,1 buzzard,2 garden,1 willow warbler,3 whitethroat,12 ad Med gulls at 10.27,2 bullfinches,few Swifts,swallows,sand and house martins,1 Green woodpecker.
Dorset-The Forster’s Tern still showing very well this morning on posts in NE corner of boating lake,3 sandwich terns,5 ad med gulls,1 mandarin,1 r.b.merganser, kingfisher. 10 Glossy Ibis in flooded fields by Wareham bypass+I Cattle egret flew over.
Brilliant day in Cornwall with superb views of the Ross’s in Newlyn also Iceland Gull on wooden jetty,2 med gulls,30+ g.northern divers then the Pacific Diver showing well off Jubilee Pool+ 8 purple sands,8 razorbills, 4 gannets. Then bad weather closed in from 1pm.
Hayling Island- Red Necked Grebe still off oyster beds,2 B.Necked Grebes, Long tailed duck, Drake scaup, 2 G.N.Divers,4 goldeneye,10+r.b.mergansers.1 Black.Throated Diver off Broadmarsh pier Langstone.
Fabulous first days birding in Hants of the year with great views of the Killdeer from 8am, Red kite then lesser spot, Firecrest, marsh tit in the forest, then the G.T.Grackle at Southdown Avenue and G.N.Diver of Hythe pier.👍
