@acerbicmiss Yes there is...the bar handcuffs from about 18th century to early 20th. The key had a screw ratchet that unlocked the cuff. The more modern ones are Haites. The user is able to lock the cuff in place so the ratchet will get no tighter....there are lots of others too.

@RachelReevesMP It's great that kids are fed....so their should be....I have two kids 30 and 33. I worked, and worked hard to feed my family whilst paying tax. And more and more over the years....your useless governments firstly under B Liar and now under Pinocchio have taxes me more. JUST GO!
