Barnafoss- a waterfall in West Iceland. It is known for its dark history in folklore. However, it is possible that like many Icelandic tales, a scary story was created as a way to ensure that young children feared the country’s unpredictable nature.

Deildartunguhver is the most powerful hot spring in Europe. Some of the water is used for heating; it is piped 34 kilometres (21 mi) away to Borgarnes and 64 kilometres (40 mi) away to Akranes.

Walk down through a canyon at Þingvellir that is part of a fault complex in the area, representing the tectonic plate boundary between the North American Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The two are separating at about the same rate that fingernails grow.
