A college English professor of mine, trying to make a somewhat different point, asked us to read a list of colored objects. I forget most of them, but it was something like
- a brown stick
- a green coat
- a blue cup
- a red wheelbarrow
- a white cloud
I had not at the time read “The Red Wheelbarrow” by William Carlos Williams. Nevertheless, in reading the list the red wheelbarrow stuck out to me as a charged image; the others seemed flat. The professor meant to teach us that poetic images, free of their context, are just the same as images one might find in more ordinary descriptions. But to me the lesson was the opposite: in fact, Williams sensed the magic in the image of the red wheelbarrow, magic it retained even free of the surrounding lines in the poem.
Here’s my fire hero power mage list. It’s far from tier 1 but lots of fun and very playable in mid legend post nerfs. Goes for tempo and chip damage early into Mordresh and/or an Ignite chain with Chandler to finish. Sometimes you stick a discounted Chandler on turn 4 and win.
@GRiMS2K You probably saw me playing my fire mage deck:
AAECAaXDAwabzQPl0QPY7APn8AOy9wOoigQM97gD+MwD+84DpNED0OwD0uwD0+wD1uwDrvcDs/cD9PwDoZIEAA==
It's a fun deck, but it's not as strong as the best decks in the meta. If you try it out, good luck!
Climbed from around ~300 to 54 the past two days with my hybrid elemental/Mozaki deathrattle mage.
Imprisoned Phoenix and Moz are so sweet in the same deck. Vectus gives you extra missiles and draw.
@ZachODR Nerfing flow to 3 + reverting spring water to 4 is a good compromise. At 5 mana spring water is unplayable in decks that run more than a few minions -- so its nerf further skewed mage toward spell-only decks revolving around flow.
@FenoHS My card idea for making Mozaki playable again. Probably enables a lot of other cool combos too.
Get near the end of your deck -> Play Mozaki + elekk + biscuits + spring water -> repeat until spell damage enough to kill w/ a runed orb.
@ClarkHELLSCREAM I hope they never do anything like this, especially to Sorcerer's Apprentice. Miracle turns where you draw and play a lot of cards have always been one of my favorite parts of Hearthstone.
