Don't let your empathy be greater than your self respect. Be kind, but never at the cost of your dignity. You can care deeply for others and still choose yourself, your peace, and your boundaries first.
The most painful thing for a woman isn't always the argument itself. It's when she finally gathers the courage to speak about what's hurting her, and the man she loves chooses pride over understanding. Instead of listening, he shuts down, defends himself, or turns the blame around until she's questioning her own sanity. Suddenly, she's not expressing pain; she's "starting drama." She's not seeking clarity; she's "too emotional." And in that moment, she realizes she's not being heard at all. That kind of emotional deflection doesn't just end conversations, it breaks trust. It leaves her standing there, holding pieces of honesty she risked everything to share, only to be met with silence, sarcasm, or denial. That's not communication. It's manipulation disguised as self-protection.
A real man doesn't fear accountability, he values it. He understands that when a woman opens up about what's hurting her, she's not attacking, she's inviting growth. But when he chooses to dodge, dismiss, or gaslight, he's not protecting the relationship, he's poisoning it. Listening is not weakness; it's maturity. Taking responsibility doesn't make him less of a man; it proves his strength. Because love isn't about winning arguments, it's about showing up with honesty and humility. The truth is, no relationship can survive where ego leads and empathy disappears. If you can't face discomfort for the person you claim to love, then what kind of love is that? Real connection begins the moment both people stop defending their pride and start defending their bond.
I’ve realized a lot of men don’t actually like women being women anymore. A woman can’t complain without being negative can’t be sensitive without being dramatic, can’t express emotions without being told she doing too much. But let him shut down, snap, or act cold and suddenly everybody gotta understand his mood.
Manipulation is when they always play the victim by blaming you for your reaction to their toxic behaviour, but will never discuss their disrespect that triggered you.
The silence after you have accepted something you never wanted to accept is different. It’s not weakness. It’s not defeat. It’s the sound of your soul finally stopping the argument with reality. You don’t explain as much. You don’t fight as much.
Unfortunately, I do want a provider. I do want a protector. I do want a leader. I do want a dominant man. I do want emotional maturity and effective communication. I do want mental stability. I do want to be spoiled. I do want self awareness. I do want clingy, obsessed and safe. I do want someone who chooses me every time. And nobody is going to make me feel bad for wanting those things in a partner.
Everybody wants a good woman until she puts pressure on you to step up. Because here's the truth, a good woman isn't just going to sit quietly while you give her half your effort. She's not going to accept being treated halfway right and pretend it's enough. She's not going to bite her tongue and stay silent when she knows you're capable of better. Everybody says they want a good woman. But what they really mean is, they want a good woman who doesn't expect them to grow. A good woman who doesn't challenge them. A good woman who's ‘easy’ to keep. But a real good woman???
She's gonna challenge you to rise. She's gonna hold you accountable. She's gonna call you out when you're slacking, not because she's nagging, but because she loves you enough to want more for you and more from you. A good woman is rare. She's always there. She's loyal, available, and supportive. She's the type to stick around when things get tough, the type to pour into you when you're empty, the type to see your potential even when you've lost sight of it yourself. And guess what, all she's asking for is respect and communication. That's it. Not perfection, not riches, not fame. Just consistency. Effort. Honesty. But so many men fumble a blessing because they mistake her standards for
‘attitude’ They call her DIFFICULT because she refuses to settle for less than she deserves. They label her ‘too much’ because she refuses to play small just to make a man feel big.
But let me tell you something, 9 times out of 10, if she’s DIFFICULT it's because she's loyal. She's fighting for you. Fighting for the relationship. Fighting for something real and lasting. And if you can't handle the pressure she brings? If you can't match the loyalty she offers? If you can't step up and meet her where she's at? Then the loss is yours. Because a good woman will only carry the relationship for so long before she puts that weight down and walks away. And when she leaves, you'll realize she wasn't ‘too much’. She was just too much for the wrong man. Don't miss out on a blessing just because she challenges you to be better. A good woman isn't trying to control you. She's trying to build with you. And not every man is ready for that.
Respecting your partner is deeper than just staying faithful. Respecting your partner means to also respect their voice and allow them to be heard. Respect is communication. Respect is avoiding the same mistakes or things you know will make your partner mad/sad. Respecting your partner is thinking before you speak. Respecting your partner is being their number one fan. Respect is sometimes 'just' an attempt to understand. Respect is empathy. Respect is effort. Respect is love.
Someone’s effort is a reflection of their interest in you, remember that. You should never have to beg for attention from someone who genuinely wants you in their life. The energy they give you often tells the truth their words won’t.
