FPSO P-79 arrives at Búzios.

Following P-78’s start-up on Dec 31, Búzios welcomes its 8th production unit. P-79 (by SAME Netherlands) will connect to 8 producers + 6 injectors, with capacity of 180 kbpd and 7.2 MMm³/d of gas. Commissioning underway.

KUFPEC joins Orca Project (Santos Basin)

Shell has sold a 20% stake in the Orca Project (Pre-Salt Santos Basin) to KUFPEC. The fields were declared commercial in 2025. The new consortium is Shell (50%), Ecopetrol (30%) and KUFPEC (20%), subject to approvals.

Equinor seeks drilling license in Santos Basin

Equinor applied for 3 drilling permits in block S-M-1378, acquired in Brazil’s 4th Open Acreage Cycle (2023), near the Pre-Salt polygon. The area borders Bumerangue, bp’s largest discovery in 25 years, ~353 km offshore.

The FPSO became the 7th unit operating at Búzios, with capacity of 180 kbpd and 7.2 MMm³/d of gas, strengthening Brazil’s pre-salt production.

PPSA held today’s Auction of Non-Contracted Areas at B3, offering the Federal Government’s shares in Mero, Atapu, and Tupi. Petrobras + Shell secured Mero (R$ 7.79 bi) and Atapu (R$ 1 bi).No bids were placed for Tupi.
