@NMerke Exactly! Especially in 3D VCA: gain settings can create any VCA you want. My approach: first reconstruct the normal 2D planes from the 3D dataset. Then compare the reconstructed colour doppler image with the normal 2D doppler images. If they look exactly (!) the same, go to VCA.
@NMerke@EACVIPresident@escardio Top topic. Funny just talked about it to my fellows. And it's also crucial to not to hide these, and other numbers on the machine. Turn the all numbers "on" in the machine settings, that they are presented beside your image. Again, a crucial topic Nicolas :-)
@alex1708ander That's what I'm telling my fellows all day long. Don't learn angles, learn anatomy and build up your exam by going from anatomical structure to anatomical structure. This way you don't get lost and can handle uncommon situations.
@NMerke If I get it right, it doesn't matter that some of the TR volume won't pass the right heart due to LR Shunt. Because in the next heart beat it will equal it out. Over time all volume has to pass the right heart or it will explode or implode... Or didn't I get the point?
@NMerke I had quite a few patients last year who were "asymptomatic" but had volumetric severe MR. They adapted to the situation. So first, what is symptomatic? Studies with specific stress protocols which are correlated to outcome might be helpful. But I'm afraid a wishful thinking?
The history of echocardiography began during Carl Hellmuth Hertz’s honeymoon in Erlangen and then embarked on an exciting journey in which we participate today.
@iamritu@bwoody58@argulian@echo_batman@VerwerftJan 👍 A sign of impaired relaxation. This is also an example why ECG recording is mandatory during echocardiography. You can't distinguish a L wave from an A wave in pseudoregular atrial fibrillation...
