Listen, what #JimAcosta did was rude and unprofessional, but people should really shut up about how they were concerned about the #whintern safety. Give me a break #FoxNews. I think Jim is the most narcissistic reporter I have ever seen, but this is not a #metoo moment. Chill!
At what point in the American social experiment did it become impossible to voice unpopular opinions without being personally attacked for voicing them? Also if the idea is so terrible, how hard would it be to dismantle it? #politics#tolerance#liberals#snowflakes#justcurious
This is me trying to speak with the protestors. I welcome critiques. I am sure there are ways in which I could have better communicate my position. Response video will be released soon. https://t.co/WgS2joDx3S
@nellahgrace The majority of the protests were passionate but peaceful. Albeit there were a couple reports of protesters breaking car windows, & jumping on hoods. But sometimes that’s all it takes to give fuel to a lie that “all black people” are angry/violent. It’s an evil cycle of prejudice
@nellahgrace I struggle to answer cause I don’t have all the info. Perhaps if they got a permit with the city counsel, they might’ve got an escort to march the whole street? Perhaps it could’ve been a more collective effort? On a later date, there was a great blm speech about mental health.
@nellahgrace I think it is grossly unfair that these negative perceptions have been allowed to perpetuate for so long. I want to encourage people to try and prove naysayers wrong. And I often feel that in the attempt to protest injustice we shouldn’t behave unjustly.
@nellahgrace I am in no way perfect, and perhaps my attempt to communicate these feelings only exacerbated the situation. But I feel like there is a much deeper issue with our social fabric. BTW, I appreciate you reaching out.
@nellahgrace I am in no way saying that blocking traffic is in anyway equivalent to murder! But there are many people who are going to look for the smallest thing to continue to justify their negative perception of an entire demographic of people. And that’s wrong.
@nellahgrace I believe that people have a right to be angry. And I understand the tendency to allow our rage to communicate our hurt. My concern has been that the negative stereotypes that negatively influences PD’s wrongful perceptions can be perpetuated by aspects of how we react.
@nellahgrace I appreciate your question. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose a loved one under those circumstances. And I truly believe that #StephonClark was killed unjustly. But I do know what it’s like to lose a brother. It’s awful. And I can’t defend what happened.
