In Gaza, Israel treated almost everything as a military target, inflicting general misery so as to weaken Hamas. I fear that the US and Israel might be attempting something similar in Iran, targeting civilian infrastructure like water supply in a way I find unconscionable.
“Our government is treating the suffering of the Iranian people as a backdrop for our own entertainment …. But, in the end, we lose our humanity when we are thrilled by the destructive power of our military. …. The longer we remain blind to the terrible consequences of war, the more we are risking the most precious gift God gave us: our humanity.
“I know that the American people are better than this.”
Lindsey Graham: "If we get in a fight, I want to win it quick. I'm in Miami. You see this hat? 'Free Cuba.' Stay tuned. The liberation of Cuba is upon us. We're marching through the world. We're clearing out the bad guys. Cuba is next."
I don't know what is meant about the Elizabeth Warren example. I do knights her Rutgers Law Review student note about the Detroit schools case is one of the most rigorous pieces I've seen in 55 years as student, lawyer, and law professor.
Since observing the Elizabeth Warren example, I would unhesitatingly advise anyone I care about to cross their fingers and fill out any official form with whatever flavor of disability/identity/preference is likely to get the biggest preference/break without the slightest hint of guilt.
