@FinnMurphy12@MonkeyDRory@mickfox Also, didn’t these guys make like 120k in revenue on the back a 50m spend? It’s just not needed in Ireland. This is purely a financial decision on their part. It’s nothing to do with regulation.
@FinnMurphy12@MonkeyDRory@mickfox We don’t have an issue with suburban deliveries. There is no problem that needs solving here. What exactly are these drones going to be delivering that is right now an issue for suburban households?
@NiallMu66517442@FinnMurphy12 Whataboutery never serves progress. Cars are noisy. I agree. But they’re not nearly as invasive as drones flying overhead. And we have cars. The ship has sailed on that. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t all other techs and services to progress without critical engagement.
That’s such a lazy argument. Just because one imperfect technology exists doesn’t mean we shouldn’t critically examine future imperfect technologies. I’m not saying cars are wonderful, I’m saying that drones are invasive. Cars kills people, yes. But we have them now. Progress isn’t about allowing any technology or service to develop unchecked; it’s about developing new ideas in harmony with the social and cultural good. People don’t want commercial, privately owned drones flying over their private property. We can deal with that challenge without resorting to whataboutery, surely?
