@Svigel Scared me for a second—I thought you were espousing this as a position; didn’t realize it was a poll—I thought, “What happened tonight Dr. Svigel?”
How are we going to respond with passion, compassion, and empathy? What resources are YOU personally willing to put toward really solving the issue of unwanted pregnancy near you?
Please don’t ask me how I feel about anything political right now. I have spent the vast majority my life lamenting the plight of the pre-born. Albeit, that lament has taken on different forms throughout the years.
Here is a hill I’m willing to die on right now:
To my ”compassionate conservative” friends: the gauntlet has been thrown. It is now up to you (us, to the extent that I am willing to still be labeled such) to prove that we are truly and wholly pro-life.

I was wrong & embarrassingly ignorant to assume — no, believe! — liturgical churches of any kind were dry & boring with meaningless rituals practiced by detached people and that liturgical churches (across the board!) did not value the Scriptures OR the gospel the way “we” did.
Yes, this was before 9/11 and COVID and multiple expressions of division, but I believe we could build the America we ALL want to live in if we resisted the urge to point fingers at each other ALL. THE. TIME.
Maybe we should all write a letter of appreciation to someone today.
I guess since this is a letter between two ex-Presidents, this post can’t help but be slightly political. Mostly I just wanted to post this to remind us of what the America of my young adulthood looked like.
I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but the past tense of lead is led, to loose and to lose are 2 different actions (often same result), and the verb form of breath is breathe. The first 2 might save you a character or two on twitter…
