@simonkigondu Aptly captured. Not forgetting that SHA/Funding is only a segment of the Healthcare system. There is HR, Supplies, Infrastructure, Information systems, referral, & Governance issues to address. The SHA Summit missed the mark by a mile.

A weekend ago I had the honor and privilege of welcoming my esteemed youthful colleague Dr George Gwako when he made an impromptu visit to @DKLDrKalebiLabs choosing us to have his periodic annual wellness check by taking advantage of the heavily discounted comprehensive lab check up at DKL for which he actually insisted to pay in full declining further doctorโs discount on the tests after seeing the competitively low prices.
Dr George Gwako MD PhD is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Researcher and Senior Lecturer at UoN with sub-specialty expertise in feto-maternal medicine focusing on high-risk pregnancies, postpartum haemorrhage, stillbirths, and HIV/AIDS.
It was pleasure to showcase the advanced cutting edge technologies and wide array of specialized tests that we now have available at our homegrown and one-of-a-kind central referral lab including specialized immunoassays for pre-eclampsia risk assessment and infectious diseases, molecular tests, genetic testing and other esoteric tests of benefit to evaluation of high risk pregnancies as well as recurrent abortions and stillbirths.
We also discussed the availability of world-class testing setup for research and clinical trials at our ISO15189-accredited ultramodern greenfield lab with total lab automation (TLA) and digital pathology which was the first private lab to be registered and licensed by KMLTTB as a Class G National and International Clinical Diagnostic and Research Reference Lab in Kenya.
Looking forward to great engagement and collaboration with Dr Gwako for advancement of scientific research and diagnostic analysis for our patients in the country and the region.

Not taking any action concerning the plight of doctors is making a choice for an ineffective healthcare system irrespective of what else we invest in
Exhausted and depressed drs are bad for the health of the health system beyond the worrying personal harm and preventable deaths.
