[Young people's event - Ages 13+] Physicist Kate Lancaster (@DrKate_L) will lead you on a journey through the extreme world of lasers, from the basics of how they work to ultra-intense giant lasers which might provide clean energy for everyone. https://t.co/95eIBETN5N
@GJ_Both @matplotlib I agree, it would be nice! Unfortunately I'm not sure how it could be implemented. I'm okay at hacking things together using the API but my knowledge of the Matplotlib back end is minimal at best! Could be worth putting in a feature request?
@GJ_Both @matplotlib The issue with something like visually_center is getting this to work with a generic subplot layout. For complex publication-ready figures, I typically use GridSpec and do the alignment manually, which would also work for the plot in your original post. 2/2
@GJ_Both @matplotlib It should play well with tight_layout if you call it before centre_axes. In fact, I recommend doing this so that axes labels don't get clipped. bbox_inches='tight' will break it. 1/2
@ThePSF Anything @realpython is fantastic; can’t recommend highly enough. If you have a problem, their articles will show you how to solve it, tell you how it works, present best practices, give realistic use cases, and more! Bonus points for fun graphics.
Join SCAPA in this free virtual workshop to learn from physicists, biologists and chemists all about the current state of ultra-high dose rate radiotherapy, and how it has the potential to drastically improve how cancer is treated in the future.

There were many fascinating presentations and posters at #EPSplasma2021. Many thanks to @epsplasma2020@EuroPhysSoc for an excellent conference! I was delighted to have the opportunity to present some ongoing research and very much look forward to reading the proceedings.
Very happy to share my conference paper "Investigations into the volume plasma density waveplate" - a contribution to the 2021 #SPIE#optics + #optoelectronics proceedings. Open access version coming soon!

Very happy to have contributed a talk on volume plasma density gratings to the #IOPplasma2021 conference last week. Some really interesting talks and presentations showing that #plasma research is fundamental, useful and thriving!
It is my extreme pleasure to finally share my accepted manuscript: "Microstructure Formation in Radially Counterstreaming Electron Flows". https://t.co/FC3n2CenHX
