Really excited to share our trailer for FALL BETTER. First steps for baby out in the open.
Just a glimpse here of all the work- but special mention to the gorgeous cinematography of Jamie Harding on 16mm and 35mm @kodak_shootfilm , and a frankly transcendent score by Adrian Lo
Loved Neptune Frost at London Film Fest last year- @SaulWilliams transformed what poetry meant to me as an undergrad. The Master’s Tools don’t so much dismantle the Masters house as give it a 4D afrofuturist renovation. Go see @wshed & beyond!
The disgraced Home Secretary @SuellaBraverman claimed £2,684 back on expenses to cover the utility bills on her second home last year.
Retweet this if you think Braverman should be paying for her own utility bills.
15 years ago my PhD advisor taught me One Weird Trick for editing your own writing. Edit **back to front**, paragraph by paragraph. I still use it and it still surprises me how well it works. When I get my students to do it, it often blows their minds. Try it!
Oh and PS-- in light of @edfilmfest and @Filmhouse's closure, and @annabdemented's excellent article, we need to fight for these encounters and the spaces that facilitated them more than ever!!!
This is something I’ve noticed (in somewhat smaller outbreaks this year than previously)- pockets of public screening audiences seem prone to laughter when laughing is just about the only reaction the film shouldn’t provoke. (1/11)
i genuinely dont think ive been as angry and upset in a film screening as i just was for a #lff public showing of pretty red dress: a really touching, heartfelt film about a black man coming to terms with his gender identity that 90% of the audience pissed themselves laughing at?
Q&As, introductions, encounters with filmmakers, events around screenings for further conversations- chances to turn exhibition into dialogue, and make an encounter with Others something to embrace, rather than laugh uncomfortably or mindlessly at. (11/11)
