In this case, the Gardaí 'talked down' a person who had shot up the town, including a taxi driver and Garda.
We demand a public inquiry into George's unnecessary death.

Really good turnout considering case numbers and appalling weather. Great speakers with a real understanding of how the system is built on #racism & stacked against the working class. #JusticeforGeorgeNkencho#GeorgeNkencho#dubw
"From the outset, our family has called for a public inquiry that would have the transparency, resources and power to get to the truth of what happened and why George was brutally shot dead within minutes on our doorstep" #JusticeForGeorgeNkencho

It's been a year since a young black man was killed. We stand in solidarity with #GeorgeNkencho's family in challenging state racism. If you can, at 6pm head to Blanchardstown to show we haven't forgotten & we still support the fight for #JusticeforGeorgeNkencho#BlackLivesMatter
One year on and no answers or justice for #GeorgeNkencho's family. How could 12 Gardai not disarm a man without shooting him? Why was he shot? And why was he shot more than once? How was this done to him?

Justice delayed is justice denied.
Demand an independent public inquiry.

An emotional evening as family, friends and neighbours gathered in the rain to mark the anniversary of the killing of George Nkencho by armed Gardaí.

GSOC has lied to the Nkencho family in their promise of an end to the investigation within a year. It took months for GSOC to interview Gardaí at the shooting. The state has denied the family their human rights. The trigger happy Gardaí remain working in our community.

In 2020, George Nkencho was a black man shot by police six times outside his family home and killed.
His family say he was in the midst of a mental health crisis.
We want justice for George.
We want to know: who protects us from the police?

"The staffing of an oversight body such as Gsoc is not in line with other civil service departments or agencies”
