Burnley Football Club has dismissed Head Coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect.
The Board has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season.
Thought we’ve played excellent by and large tonight. Ramazani, Vardy and Alleyne all standouts.
Then on the flip side, we’ve given away the ball twice and the goalkeeper has just palmed in the second. It’s not on Hayen for me, it’s on the diabolical recruitment. #twitterclarets
Absolutely brilliant interview with Alan Pace on Clarets+ just now, with lots of exciting little snippets. Think the full interview is going out for free later, but will share what interesting little bits I picked out #twitterclarets

@PaddyG1993 Agree with you. Even when we play well, you know we’ve got to score at least two goals because we’ve got a liability in defence. Can’t remember one save this season that I was impressed by.
Used to be proud to call myself a Burnley fan. Not so much these days. Unrecognisable from the squads that lost five Championship games in 100 hundred and odd.
Hayen is finished but he shouldn’t be the only head to roll. He was set up to fail from the off. #twitterclarets
We were terrific when the 39-year-old Jamie Vardy was on the pitch. Then he has to go off, understandably, and yer man comes on.
From that point, between him & the fella in goal, we’re playing with nine men. Hayen is done, but he was dealt a bum hand in’t summer #twitterclarets
@ju_no1@JamieSmithSport Aye, he was brilliant and all over the pitch last night. When he scored it was something like he’d touched the ball the least, but it was his movements off the ball that opened up space for others time and time again.
He’s still a cracking player, one of the few bright sparks.
@Harriso84434574 Ahhhh sometimes he makes the wrong decision but for the most part, I think he’s adventurous, threatening and puts the defenders on their heels. Vardy creates the space and Ramazani uses it to exploit the defence. I was impressed by him again.
@RyanPS90@claretcrumpet And what’s where I feel sorry for Hayen. Not much he can do about that! We don’t stand a chance with goalkeepers who can’t make saves.
@RJHulme13 Don’t like discussing the backroom staff because at the end of the day, none of us know the work that goes in on the training ground. But results will dictate that Hayen goes sooner rather than later.
Exasperated at the goalkeeper situation. Like I say, we’re set up to fail.
@bfcparatrooper Keeper was called into action a lot but that doesn’t make it a decent performance, in my opinion. Made the ordinary look impressive because he’s all over the place.
Anyhow, as you’ve pointed out, the quality and depth of that squad is pitiful.
@JamieSmithSport Two games in four days at the age of 39. It’s completely fair to pull him at the 60th minute, but the issue is we have nobody to take his place.
We’d somehow be even more stuffed if Vardy played all 90 and suffered a hamstring or alike.
