Dramatic scenes at @NorwichCC this evening with four members quitting the Labour Party. Three were city councillors and one was a Norfolk County Councillor.

With four members gone from Norwich City Council, Labour no longer holds a majority. Before this evening Labour held 23 seats on the city council, the Greens 13 and the Lib Dems three.

The make-up is now Labour 19, Greens 13, Independents four, and Lib Dems three.

The meeting has also seen interruptions from protesters calling for the city council to support a ceasefire in Gaza. At one point business was suspended while the public chanted "ceasefire now" from the public gallery.

I'm at an extraordinary meeting of Norwich City Council's cabinet where they're discussing whether to spare the developer behind Anglia Square off from funding around £2.3m worth of community projects.

Each one approved five to one. Just Cate Oliver voted against the proposal.
