Since the Linda Mwananchi Rally on Sunday, I have noticed another, more placid side of Sifuna.
A lot is happening around him. His name is everywhere—mentioned by supporters and non-supporters alike. Some are defending him; others are attacking him.
Someone had to call a press conference to explain himself. Another has been hopping from one media station to another, from one podcast to another, trying to explain Sifuna.
And Sifuna?
Calm. Composed. Unbothered.
Or perhaps bothered—but disciplined enough not to show it.
He has given his enemies no public weakness to exploit. No emotional outburst. No panic. No unnecessary response. No spectacle.
While others are busy talking about Sifuna, Sifuna is busy doing the work.
When he is not on the Senate floor contributing to motions, he is having constructive engagements with the Dutch Ambassador, receiving delegations from Marsabit, or meeting politicians who are publicly pledging their allegiance to him and Linda Mwananchi.
That contrast tells you something.
One man is being discussed everywhere.
The other is busy working.
One is reacting to Sifuna.
Sifuna is simply moving.
This is the temperament Kenya needs in a President: calm under pressure, disciplined under provocation, focused amid noise, and capable of separating political theatre from the work of governing.
Imperturbable yet steely. Calm, but not passive. Quiet, but unmistakably consequential.
