A horrible and sleepless night in Kyiv. This was one of the most brutal Russian attacks to date, with ballistic missiles raining down on our capital one after another.

At least 12 people were killed in Kyiv, and one more in the Kyiv region. A school, a children’s hospital, and residential buildings were severely damaged. Russia also attacked Chernihiv and Odesa regions.

With such horrific war crimes Putin wants to demonstrate complete impunity. Each Russian ballistic missile is an act of barbarism. And each interceptor delivered to Ukraine is an act of humanity and saved human lives.

We know partners who can deliver these interceptors, and we urge them once again to act without delay. Every delay is measured in human lives.

We are informing all states and international organizations of the consequences of this attack, and we urge them to take immediate, concrete steps to intensify pressure on Russia and bolster support for Ukraine.

I urge Ukrainians abroad to take action.

We are calling on the Ukrainian World Congress, as well as all Ukrainian organizations and communities in key capitals and around the world, to raise their voices now.

We call for three critical measures to protect human lives:

- Deliver air defense: Transfer or sell additional interceptors and air defense systems to Ukraine.

- Tighten sanctions: Increase sanctions pressure to cripple Russia’s ability to manufacture these instruments of terror.

- Build defense capabilities: Partner with Ukraine to develop anti-ballistic capabilities.

A verified account called RTRussia has launched on X. The account is connected via a European app store, even though the Russian propaganda outlet RT is sanctioned in the EU.

This is a clear violation of these sanctions.

Trump is suspending exercises with South Korea because he says he has a “really good relationship” with Kim Jong-un.

Meanwhile, North Korea has nuclear weapons, threatens our allies, supplies Russia’s war against Ukraine, and has sent troops to fight alongside Putin.

This is how American alliances get destroyed — and how you convince countries like South Korea and Japan that they may need nuclear weapons of their own.

The damage from this could last generations.

Let the Mothers Be Heard

I’m sharing this video because this mother’s voice deserves to be heard.

She is not a filmmaker, storyteller or organiser. She is a victim; a mother whose child remains missing. Yet, like so many others, she is being overlooked.

There have now been countless documentaries and productions about this tragedy. Awareness matters. But we must ask:

Are we keeping the victims at the centre, or are the storytellers becoming the story?

When the camera focuses on the filmmaker’s tears, personal journey or organisation while mothers like this remain unheard, something is fundamentally wrong.

Russia has committed war crimes, including the unlawful deportation and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children, in violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. Those responsible must be held accountable.

I know this will raise eyebrows and attract criticism from those promoting themselves through this tragedy. But if we don’t speak for these mothers, who will?

And share the voices of the many mothers whose children remain missing.

The spotlight belongs to the victims; not the storytellers.

Another milestone for the quiet but impactful work of @emile_fondation

While many enjoy a peaceful summer, the war continues, and so does our work.

We have now traced, located and identified around 80% of the abducted children from the Oleshky Specialised Boarding School.

But our work begins by finding their families.

For more than four years, many relatives have been forgotten. We reconnect with them, help prepare the necessary legal documents, evacuate them from the Kherson front line when needed, and provide accommodation, legal, psychological and social support.

This week we helped another family to safety.

The mother had already lost her husband and son, both killed by Russian forces. Her daughters were abducted.

Behind every statistic is a family waiting, grieving and hoping.

We will continue to search. We will continue to trace. We will continue to stand beside these families until every possible child is reunited with those who love them.
